Ryan's amazing digital artwork featured here illustrates the characters from our performance version of Shakepeare's The Tempest, drawn in his own unique style.

How long have you been drawing, Ryan?

I've been drawing and doing art for 23 years now.

Can you tell us a bit about your artwork?

My world of art is based on my favourite characters from Thomas and friends, King Arthur, My Little Pony, The Raccoons, Sonic the Hedgehog, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Star Fox Adventures and so on. I take my favourite characters and blend them in King Arthur, Train pictures, fairy tales and nursery rhymes. My character I've created myself is a purple reindeer named Ryan Sparkle, who is a kind, gentle, loving and caring buck, who lives on the Island of Sodor. He is the son of Rupert Reindeer and Twilight Sparkle, in my world.

How do you create your artwork?

Some of my artwork is drawn, painted and stuck on double sided tape to give a standing out effect, but most of my artwork is digital art on etheir my laptop or computer.

What do you like about drawing?

I love drawing and doing artwork. It helps keep me calm and I create some great pieces of art while thinking about the story in my head or listening to calming music, or even listening to Medieval Music.
