Who We Are

Picture the Difference (PtD) is a Kettering-based, non-profit organisation offering the creative and performing arts to young people and adults with additional needs.

We have an inclusive team ethos of co-production to ensure that everyone has a voice, a role and can contribute to our creative outcomes. All our productions are shaped around the interests and talents of our participants.

PtD participants actively engage with the wider community to make a difference by providing performances, workshops and skill-sharing with others. We offer creative training and enterprise opportunities with projects to support employability, social and communication skills. Some go on to develop their creative skills and then work with us as arts leaders.

PtD has an inclusive policy and is run both by experienced special needs teachers and those with a lived experience of an additional need.

What We Do

Typical arts activities will include:

drama improvisation; original performances;

Shakespeare; art creation & sales; film; band jam sessions; song writing; music production; singing; dance; animation; art; prop-making; set design

PtD Core Values

Place

We provide a supportive community where everyone has a place and belongs.

Participation

We believe that in order to feel valued everyone needs to contribute to their community.

Purpose

All our creative projects are purposeful and promote self-worth, self-expression and positive mental health. We believe everyone has a purpose and a unique talent which we aim to nurture.

PtD Vision:

Using difference to make a difference.

Our Aim

We offer high quality arts experiences, with the aim for participants to share their learnt skills through community performance, by assisting with creative workshops for schools and other groups and in devising their own creative projects. The work we do helps to develop confidence, social-emotional and communication skills.

We want all our participants to be recognised for their creative ability not their disability.
